Hi to all the readers and those who stumbled on this website! My name is Jay Pumroy and you can call me Jay. I am working as a certified professional court reporter and I am travelling the United States as a contractor doing court reporting jobs for various municipalities.
While I travel to do my job, I learn new things from the cases and from the people I meet.
I made this blog “Realtime Advantage” to share the tips and perks of my profession and for you to know the what, why, where, when and how of travelling to places without compromising your work. For me, time and budget management are the main keys in enjoying my job and having vacation at the same time. It’s like having a real time advantage literally.
If you would like to have a career in legal transcription, I hope my blog will help you to find out what things are there in this field and through that, you can decide if this job is for you. I will use the simplest words as possible just like writing an idiot’s guide to the world of court reporting and travelling with insights from the hearings/cases I attended. I might as well post some legal words and translate these in layman’s words.
You can ask me regarding stenotype machines, basic info about filing cases and travelling the US and I will try to answer these as best as I could. If there are too many inquiries, I will just pick some of these and answer.
